SELECTED ARTISTS - THE SUSSEX 2026
Congratulations on being selected for The Sussex 2026. The theme for this years show is: SHELTER
We are excited to put the show together and see your entries in person.
PRIVATE VIEW
The private view is on the 7th November 2025, 5 pm - 7 pm.
With 225 artists, sponsors, prize partners, judges, and staff, the PV is at maximum capacity.
Due to the district council’s regulations (they own the building) and fire safety restrictions, the PV will be attended by just yourselves without guests. Those of you who have shown with us before know that we don’t invite guests to our PV.
We encourage you to be brave and chat to your fellow selected artists. Syd (our photographer) will attend and take photos of you with your work throughout the evening. The file will be shared via Google Drive in the weeks after the PV.
This year we have separated out he prize giving to be half way through the exhibition, it allows the prize selectors to spend more time with the exhibition and all your artworks. We will contact the selected winners individually and invite them down to the exhibition for photographs and award giving.
The exhibition is free to enter for the duration of the hang, and you are welcome to arrange group visits to share your success with others. Jo is more available on exhibition days. At the PV, she will be facilitating prize partners, photographer, and sponsors to ensure all coordinated events happen as smoothly as possible on the night.
Due to the volume of attendees, we cannot facilitate guest requests. Emails requesting guests will not be responded to. If you are a shortlisted artist with carer requirements, we may allow one guest and will discuss this via the shortlisted email.

ARTWORK
Artwork
Artworks have been created in a variety of mediums, including but not limited to, painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, jewellery, photography, ceramics, mixed media, and illustration.
We asked that the artwork must be original work, created by you, the artist.
Maximum weight limit of 20kg for work that is to be hung.
For 3-D and sculptural works have a maximum weight limit of 100kg.
Works can be framed or unframed but must be ready to be hung or presented to a gallery standard.
All work must be available for hang/installation by 3rd November and sale until 29th November 2026.
No substitutions of work will be allowed.
No sold works are allowed.
The art must remain in the venue for the duration of the exhibition and not be available for sale elsewhere.

Sales & Commission
All artworks in The Sussex 2026 will be for sale, as agreed upon entry to the show and selection process.
Sussex Contemporary Ltd handles all sales.
The commission will be levied at 30% for all artworks sold, by Sussex Contemporary Ltd.
Artists will be responsible for collecting their work at the end of the exhibition
Artists will be paid for their sold art within 14 days of the end of the exhibition by bank transfer, as long as artist payment details have been received.
