ARTIST MENTORING with Jo Myles
45 minutes · £75 · BN9 Studio, Newhaven
Make time to focus on your creative practice and what you want to do next.
Join Sussex Contemporary’s Creative Director, Jo Myles, for a face-to-face mentoring session during THE SUSSEX 2026: SHELTER.
Jo has been mentoring since 2012, bringing experience in artist development, exhibition curation, artwork sales, creative business and institutional partnerships.
Your session is shaped around your priorities. You might want to explore pricing and selling your work, choosing exhibitions and opportunities, presenting your practice, developing income streams or finding a clearer professional direction.
Whether you’re preparing to exhibit for the first time or reassessing an established practice, this is dedicated time to ask questions, work through decisions and agree practical next steps.
Before your appointment, we’ll ask you to share a little about your practice and one or two subjects you’d like to focus on. A brief written summary of agreed actions is included afterwards.
Available appointments
Sunday 15 November 2026: 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm or 2 pm

How it works

Meet Jo at BN9 Studio in Newhaven for a 45-minute, face-to-face conversation in a separate area within THE SUSSEX 2026 exhibition. Together, you’ll explore your priorities, work through questions and agree practical actions tailored to your practice.
After the session, Jo will send you a brief written summary of your agreed actions, giving you clear next steps to take forward.
What to bring: “You’re welcome to bring images of your work on a tablet, laptop or in a printed portfolio, alongside any questions you’d like to discuss.”
Arrival: “Please arrive five minutes before your appointment and let the exhibition team know you’re here for mentoring.”
