12. Rosa Glauca Handwoven Cushion by Emily Mackey
Made from: Handwoven British wool with zip along the bottom. Feather insert.

I was given permission to raid the beautiful compost heaps in mid winter at Great Dixter House and Gardens some years ago. I used these plants to make up small dye baths to achieve a palette of wild winter colours, which I had dyed up with wool. I looked at the simple patterns and shapes of the gardens in winter, with canes, frosted surfaces, and boards for gardeners.
Purchased artworks will remain on display as part of the exhibition until it closes on 30 September. Buyers may then choose either to collect their artwork free of charge from Standen House on 2 October, or to have the work professionally packed, insured and couriered by Sussex Contemporary. Courier dispatches will commence from 7 October. Delivery charges vary according to the size, weight and value of each artwork and are detailed on the individual product page.
