The Beekeeper
Oil on board
Dimensions: 34 x 34 x 4
Artist’s statement
I happenend to find an image of a boy in a beekeeper's suit that looked intriguing and so started to explore how this might somehow work in a painting. As things developed I came away from my original ideas and began seeing the suit as a visual metaphor for the child's vulnerability in today's world and how a mother will find every way she can to shelter him from danger.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
