Artist’s statement
No roof. Just timber nailed to Victorian slate, high above the Tyne, and inside it a table, two chairs, glasses left where the conversation ended. This is where people come to breathe, to talk, to be unreachable for a moment. The city is right there, close enough to touch, and still it recedes. Shelter is not always something we hide beneath. Sometimes it is something we build at the edge, and open to the sky. Outside-in.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
