Ian Baker
Blue Jumper
Acrylic on paper
Dimensions: 42cm x 60 cm
Artist’s statement
Because these are works done in response to finding remnants of someone's makeshift shelter, while I was walking through woods.
You are left wondering who was that person, why where they sleeping rough. We start to imagine and create narratives.
There is something so poignantly sad about these remnants, a cheap blue jumper lays discarded on the damp woodland floor , it's wearer gone.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
