Artist’s statement
I love books and being surrounded by them on bookshelves at home or in a library. Reading a good book takes me to a different, magical world and shelters me from the stressful or mundane reality of daily life. Books create simple, pleasurable and effective dreamlike shelters, which comfort and protect, taking us into the past or present to inform, educate and inspire. My sculpture forms an abstract tower of books, celebrating the stability, peace and personal balance that they provide.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
