Kim Bell
Mexican Dream
Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 120 x 120 cm
Artist’s statement
This artwork draws on my memories of Mexico City and the surrounding jungle, a place of striking contrast. Vibrant colours, joyful people and beautiful landscapes exist alongside a darker reality of political unrest and drugs. I wanted to capture this tension through the colourful shelter and natural scenery, set against the darkness of the sky and imposing high-rise buildings.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
