Loren Beven
Setting Out
Acrylic on aluminium
Dimensions: 21 x 29 x 1cm
Artist’s statement
This scene of a fishing boat setting out alone is imagined. It is the kind of boat that still sails through our idea of the British coast as we hold on to pictures of place: harbours, hulls and horizons that feel like home. Nostalgia becomes its own shelter, a place we return to for comfort, even as the real one changes.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
