My Church
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 60cm x 60cm x 5cm
Artist’s statement
Our strongest and happiest memories tend to be those that are outside in nature. Climbing a willow tree as a child and hiding in secret, feeling safe and secure is one of mine. This is my adult perspective of such a space, of one that protects and creates awe. The wooden pew is a reference to a spiritual experience, under the sprawling branches of two huge willow trees, about to burst into leaf.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
