Artist’s statement
My work integrates plastic marine waste within a patchwork of collages featuring biomorphic abstractions of the benthic zone or seabed seen at low tide. The plastic waste sinks & shelters within the sand & mud of the benthic zone. This limits exposure of the plastics to extremes of environmental conditions which would degrade it. In this way the natural conditions & features of the benthic zone contribute to turning the challenge of reducing plastic marine waste into an ongoing ecosystem crisis.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
