Oil paint on canvas
Dimensions: 110cm by 95cm
Artist’s statement
The painting explores my youth, growing up in a home filled with antiques, my mother was an antique dealer/horder. Now I’ve lost my mother I realise that the through the objects I feel comfort, shelter and connection to the her.
The surrounding woods in the painting is my surreal vision of a large scale space somewhere in between the past, now and the future.
The full moon represents a clear path for the future, and a letting go of unwanted distractions.
