Fixing the Camp in the Spring
Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 56 x 45.5 x 3.5cm
Artist’s statement
‘Fixing the Camp in the Spring’ was developed from photographs and sketches made as I helped my son to fix his camp earlier this year. What is a camp? It offers a refuge away from the noise and busyness of the world. It’s a place to watch the light as it dances through the trees and through the days, and it offers a shield against the elements. It is a covering in which to be hidden, disguised amongst the green. This shelter offers time - time alone, time with nature, and time with loved ones.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
