Anna Clement
The Gentle Green Tide
Oil paint on canvas board
Dimensions: Height 84 cm, length 60 cm, width 4cm
Artist’s statement
The Gentle Green Tide explores the feeling of being immersed in a garden. Sweeping layers of green create a sense of movement and enclosure, drawing the viewer into the vegetation. The garden is seen as a form of shelter, offering calm, beauty and respite from the outside world. It is also a shared habitat, where plants grow alongside and through one another. Here, shelter becomes both refuge and a sense of belonging.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
