Artist’s statement
Hop pickers Sussex work far into the evenings and took shelter for the night next to the hop fields in communally built and maintained huts. Many huts still remain and most are derelict reflecting the impact of transportation and portable living on the use of the huts. Yet they are still there.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
