Artist’s statement
In Folklore, Anemones are said to be shelter for fairies, who curl up inside the petals when they close at night, or before rain. The purple anemone means protection, and warding off negative energy - so perhaps protection of the soul or self. In this work the flowers are enclosed inside a bold arch of neon pink, a safe boundary, sheltering them within the piece.Nature itself is a kind of shelter for me, a protection against anxiety and mental health struggles. A connection to protect myself.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
