Rene de Lange
In Plain Sight
monoprinting ink and acrylic paint on sugar paper
Dimensions: 29.7cm x 42cm
Artist’s statement
This raw monoprint explores shelter as protection through clothing and fashion. As a designer, fashion is part of my everyday life, and I’m fascinated by how clothing can both reveal and conceal us, creating a boundary between ourselves and the world. The layered, monochrome texture suggests the figure blending into its surroundings when vulnerable, exploring the tension between visibility, concealment and the ways we seek shelter.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
