Snail Ground Zero

Dimensions: H66cm, L50cm,W35cm
Artist’s statement
Snail Ground Zero addresses "SHELTER" by highlighting our reliance on the delicate ecosystems of the natural world. Constructed from hundreds of discarded snail shells, each a biologically engineered home meant to protect a vulnerable organism, the figure becomes a collective fortress. The shells represent home, life, shelter and mortality, reminding us of the interdependence between humanity and the environment and the fragility of the natural systems providing us shelter.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
