Artist’s statement
Children’s drawings often depict their home along with their immediate family unit or a desire for such a safe place. A house would also be a natural structure for a child to construct with building blocks.
When our Neolithic ancestors began to settle, they started to build structures and shelters from stones.
This painting hints at both.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
