Inked
Photography
Dimensions: 59.4 x 84.1 cm
Artist’s statement
Inked explores the body as a place of shelter. Tattoos form a second skin, suggesting a kind of armour while revealing personal expression. The bare chest and direct gaze bring protection and vulnerability into the same frame. The portrait asks whether shelter can mean feeling at home in our own skin, with the freedom to define ourselves rather than be defined by others.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
