Artist’s statement
Sheltering from the rain under a foraged leaf in subtropical South Africa, two friends so deep in conversation -a little bit laced with juicy gossip- don't realise the rain has stopped.
Memories of my Mum and godmother Betty sheltering not only in conversation but from a world they both felt they didn't belong in and taking comfort from their friendship.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
