Artist’s statement
I made this artwork as a response to the shelter, calm and wellbeing I feel, whilst amongst trees.
Woodland evokes a sense of protection, somewhere where we can absorb the quiet stoicism of its mighty inhabitants as they spread their all-encompassing canopies over our heads.
This year, more than ever, trees have sheltered us from the worst of the intense temperatures we have experienced, but the relationship is reciprocal and we owe them their protection too.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
