Artist’s statement
We all need a place we call home. A safe haven where you can be yourself and switch off from life's challenges. A place where you have nothing to prove, to be one's true self. With this drawing I wanted to capture a moment of solitude and familiarity. As a child I always found a sense of security when approaching our home after a trip away. It would be the small details on the house that I would find reassuring. Empty rooms waiting to be filled once again.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
