A Measure of Shade
Black & White Giclee Print from Photograph
Dimensions: H42cm x W29.7cm (print size)
Artist’s statement
Photographed at Great Dixter during oppressive heat, this view finds coolness within the darkness of the old barns. Rough timber, pale dust & broken planes of wood create a fragile geometry between exposure & concealment. Imperfect yet protective, the structure carries the marks of work, weather, time. Shelter becomes a brief, human comfort: the lowering of temperature, the interruption of light, and a moment held apart from the fierce pressure of the day. A gift of temporary place to pause.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
