My Burrow
Photograph
Dimensions: 44cm x 54cm x 15cm
Artist’s statement
This image was taken on Skomer Island off the coast of Wales. Of the images I took that day I thought this image evoked a sense of shelter.
The puffin is standing at the entrance to its burrow, defending its space and ultimate shelter. It is either waiting for its mate to return with food or to take off itself to find food. Either way its burrow is its shelter and like us all waiting for food to arrive or go out to get food survive.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
