Broken gypsy table and dolls house furniture
Dimensions: 68 x 50 x 50
Artist’s statement
The sculpture transforms familiar piece of domestic furniture into an imagined architecture of sculpture. The solid tabletop becomes a roof or canopy beneath which an anonymised human figure presides over a descending world of chairs, tables , shelves and domestic objects. Together they suggest the intimate relationship between the individual and the spaces we inhabit : shelter not simply as protection but as the accumulation of objects, memories and experiences from which we construct home.
