Artist’s statement
Rock Pools - Thick mats of seaweed and kelp act as a living shelter. They trap moisture when the tide is low, keeping the immediate area cool and humid, while offering camouflage and concealment from predators above. Rock pools serve as an environmental oasis, but they present major survival challenges like rapid evaporation, temperature spikes, violent wave action, and predators. Organisms utilize distinct strategies to seek or create shelter within this ecosystem.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
