Artist’s statement
Shelter does not separate us from nature — it roots us within it. Tall and open, this work is a dwelling that breathes: a portal of warm earthy hues, beads like gathered berries, and fibres stitched to the very wood that grew them. Grounded in polished wood and deep teal green, it stands where garden and art meet — a reminder that our truest refuge is not built in spite of the natural world, but from it, within it, and as part of it.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
