Artist’s statement
Black and white thinking, opposing views, all looping endlessly on a Möbius strip. This Möbius strip is a continuous, single sided loop made by introducing a half twist. One can gain a sense of safety from repeating patterns and stubborn habits, even if they're at odds with one another. Familiarity can be more comfortable than necessary change. I made this in a rustic plait pattern - one of the oldest straw plait patterns, typically made in black and white.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
