Where peace resides
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 76.2 x 61 x 2.5 cm
Artist’s statement
My oil painting explores "Shelter" as a biological and psychological sanctuary rather than a physical structure. At the heart of the canvas, a vulnerable flamingo nests securely inside a rigid porcelain vessel, creating a safe habitat against a vast cosmic sky. Flanked by a defensive peacock and grounded by a nourishing abundance of pomegranates, the scene depicts the universal instinct across all living things to carve out protective spaces of peace within a shifting universe.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
