Artist’s statement
This mosaic explores Shelter as both a physical and a human instinct. The shelter appears fragile, yet the closeness of the figures creates a sense of warmth, protection and belonging. Against the expansive blue background, the clustered group becomes a small community, united by the need for refuge. For me, shelter is not simply walls or a roof but the security found in togetherness, presence and shared humanity.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
