Artist’s statement
Held in the folds of the hills, guided by chalk paths and hedgerows, the fluid landscape of the Downs offers me protection, escape and nurture. Since childhood they’ve given me refuge from noise and stress - welcomed me regardless of my temperament - a consistent shelter. Made from the landscape itself (foraged clay and flora - within each piece), the varying lines, curves and scale of the pieces express the dynamic rhythms running through,over and within this shifting space where I feel safe.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
