Artist’s statement
This is a photograph of a shelter in decline. Once someones much loved space, well used, stood on that spot for a very long time. It is part of the landscape, it is made of the surrounding elements that have been gathered and put into place with great care. The rocks have held firm and kept the structure, the wood has survived insect attacks and the weather but is showing its changing state. The roof now holed and in advanced decay is letting the light and other elements into the space.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
