Edie Nightingall
Sonny & Sky
Medium format film taken on a Mamiya C330
Dimensions: dimensions of image were 6x6 ratio, but the image should be around 30cm one side and the other will be slightly different
Artist’s statement
Taken during the first extreme heatwave of 2026, this portrait explores our changing relationship with the seasons. The polytunnel, traditionally designed to control a microclimate, becomes a vulnerable shelter under erratic weather conditions. What at first appears as a peaceful portrait stands as a marker of an unnaturally hot spring. It captures a quiet awareness of how humans, animals, and plants are all navigating the psychological and physical realities of a shifting climate together.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
