Loose Ends
Acrylic and Oil on reclaimed wood.
Dimensions: 45 x 60 x 5
Artist’s statement
Part of a series inspired by boarded shutters encountered while homeless in London, this work reflects barred windows not as confinement, but as barriers to shelter. Painting became a means of escape, and its vivid colour palette expresses optimism amid hardship, holding tension between exclusion and the longing for refuge.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
