£1,800.00

Nessie Ramm

A21 at John’s Cross (Bus Stop Bank)

oil painting on road sign

Dimensions: 105 x 45 x 3

Artist’s statement

If you’re looking for our native wildflowers you might struggle to find them in the countryside. Instead turn your attention to the verges alongside Britain’s road network: roundabouts, slip-roads and litter-strewn lay-bys have become a place of shelter for wild things. This painting is a study of the verge behind a local bus stop. Unremarkable when seen through the window of a passing vehicle it, provides shelter and food for a whole host of wild things through the seasons.

All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.

Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.

For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
