Artist’s statement
My Grandmothers Wedding (2026) is based on some single surviving photograph of my grandmother’s wedding. She was a single mother (to my father) in the 1950’s and this painting is about the promise and hope of the emotional shelter provided by the ritual of marriage and the parade of family and friends supporting this endeavour
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
