Kate Rugg
It's OK
Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas
Dimensions: 100 x 100 x 3
Artist’s statement
It’s OK explores reassurance as a form of psychological shelter. The repeated phrase becomes a private ritual used to contain anxiety and restore a sense of safety.
Set against an institutional green associated with spaces of care and protection, the work examines the tension between the safety we are offered externally and the systems we construct ourselves in order to feel secure.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
