Artist’s statement
My work explores shelter as an embodied experience; I work in ancient woods which are tranquil natural spaces. Working at nature's pace I photograph the trees. Time slows down before I then process the film and bury it in the soil where it shelters for weeks - mycelium and soil microbes leave their trace. We are all sheltering in the woods in a reciprocal way - the trees creating shelter with their branches, me sheltering in her peace and the film spending time in the soil.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
