Dimensions: 84 x 64 x 2
Artist’s statement
“Coverage” began with me building a model of a refugee camp from newspaper cuttings of accounts of Israeli attacks on Gaza. The choice of thin newsprint, the intimacy created by entering the miniature space with a camera and the rendering of these elements in the finished composition, invite an imagining of the precarity of these shelters and their occupants. The print also brings into focus the shelter offered by the coverage of journalists on the ground and honours their courage.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
