Her Fragile Dwelling
Metal mesh, plaster, concrete, builing materials
Dimensions: 4 m x 5 m x 4 m
Artist’s statement
'Her Fragile Dwelling' questions the assumption that home automatically provides safety and protection. Built from fragmented construction materials, it explores the vulnerability of women experiencing hidden homelessness or domestic abuse, where being housed does not necessarily mean being safe. Precarious structures evoke the tension between shelter and insecurity, protection and confinement, asking what it means to live without a secure threshold.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
