Trace Lines
Carved African Springstone
Dimensions: 31x28x32
Artist’s statement
The work considers shelter as a place of connection and continuity, where shared memories and skills passed down provide an enduring sense of belonging. The dark polished stone, revealed from within the rough outer surface, suggests something protected, something held beneath the surface. The small form, carved from the same stone, represents a fragment of memory held close and rests against the surface. The carved fold interrupts the polished surface and becomes a pulse between the two.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
