Louis TF

I dreamt I escaped the apocalypse

Paper collage, coloured pencil and graphite powder

Dimensions: 55 x 45 x 2 cm

Artist’s statement

'I thought I'd done it; I thought I'd broken through to the other side and found my safehaven. I thought I'd outran the smoke, fire and disaster that engulfed the world as it fell apart. When I awoke, I realised I was still in hell.'
Surreal dreams of survival come to life in this piece, the combination of precise collage and loose drawing clash with each other in a chaotic representation our universal desire to seek safety and shelter in dangerous times.

All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.

Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.

For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
