Artist’s statement
Shelter as a concept immediately brought to mind my child. As a mother care is unconditional and devoted. The priority of providing a safe and secure home full of warmth and happy memories is freely given. It is a living entity. Yet the selfless sacrifices are also a source of refuge for the mother. Her affections and the creation of a comfortable sanctuary feed her emotionally, and the child's shelter becomes the mothers. The child is the route to the mothers nourishment.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
