Sally Webber
Homage to Ian Hamilton Finlay
Found roof tile
Dimensions: 21 x 17 x 1 (approx)
Artist’s statement
A roof tile is an object we might overlook and take for granted, but I found this one with its engraved 'ANCHOR' to be quite interesting and beautiful. I have glued it together and added string to hang it.
I think the idea of an anchor also relates to shelter and safety. It reminded me of Ian Hamilton Finlay and his poetic sculptural works.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
