Jacob Weeks
Empty Chair
1/10 Giclée photographic print on Hahnemühle
Dimensions: 70x50x5
Artist’s statement
The isolated chair suggests shelter as a place of emotional rather than physical refuge. Positioned within an exposed landscape, it offers the idea of rest and safety while simultaneously highlighting vulnerability and absence. The chair becomes a threshold between the domestic and the wild, suggesting a temporary place to belong. Its isolation reflects the fragile spaces we create for ourselves when navigating uncertainty, change and the need for connection.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
