Artist’s statement
SHELTER, for me, is synonymous with protection – with REFUGE.
I seek refuge in the woods, when I am overcome by the noise of the city and the demands of sociality. When standing close to this large work, the viewer might similarly feel enveloped by a forest and similarly sheltered. Hidden by a tangled natural barrier.
All purchased artworks must remain in the exhibition until 12pm on 29 November 2026.
Artworks can be collected between 12pm and 6pm on 29 November 2026, or between 10am and 4pm on 30 November 2026.
For every £1 spent with SUSSEX contemporary, 70p goes directly to the artist.
