On reflection of Morris’s work, Urban Rhythm makes reference to social class within British society and explores the more accessible qualities of design surrounding us through daily life.

Textiles in England have been heavily influenced by William Morris, his work adorning many upholstery and fabrics to this day. Morris was a Socialist believing in equality. However, his designs are now heavily priced in shops such as Liberties and sold at unaffordable prices for many. On reflection of Morris’s work, Urban Rhythm makes reference to social class within British society and explores the more accessible qualities of design surrounding us through daily life.

The exhibition runs until 30 September. Once a purchase has been completed, buyers may choose either to collect their artwork free of charge from Standen House on 2 October, or to have the work professionally packed, insured and couriered by Sussex Contemporary. Delivery charges vary according to the size, weight and value of each artwork and are detailed on the individual product page before purchase.
