£450.00

Catalogue number: 58

Artist: Cally Conway

Title: Print Isn't Dead

Medium: Four colour reduction linocut print

Dimensions: 42 cms x 46 cms

A rallying cry against mass production, and the current rise of AI. Inspired by the ethos of the Arts and Crafts movement and Morris' revival of print, this depicts extinct flora and fauna.

A rallying cry against the rise of AI in Art. The need for hand crafted and handmade becomes more pressing in the face of something devoid of humanity. We are eager to embrace what we see as progress, often at a great cost. The extinction of vast species of flora and fauna, (many driven by human greed in the name of progress) should exist as a warning for the use of AI in art; as King Midas turned all to gold, the loss suffered was far greater than any gain.

The exhibition runs until 30 September. Once a purchase has been completed, buyers may choose either to collect their artwork free of charge from Standen House on 2 October, or to have the work professionally packed, insured and couriered by Sussex Contemporary. Delivery charges vary according to the size, weight and value of each artwork and are detailed on the individual product page before purchase.
