HANDMADE CHRISTMAS CARD FAIR

We are asking living artists, designers, makers, and craftspersons in the UK to create original Handmade Christmas Cards in an edition of 20 to take part in this original, innovative, and exciting new format Handmade Christmas Card Fair.

The Handmade means that you must have created the design yourself. We prefer handmade cards you make; however, we recognise that you may choose to have the cards printed for you (we listen!).

WHERE & WHEN IS IT?

15th and 16th November 2025. Hosted in the beautiful Atrium at The Marine Workshops in Newhaven. We have our THE SUSSEX 2025 annual exhibition happening at the same time upstairs and have built a series of new, innovative opportunities for the living creatives within the UK to participate in and raise their profile to the thousands of art lovers who visit us at this time of year.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO TAKE PART?

£10 per design with a maximum of 3 designs per creative. We take a 15% commission on all sales. Just scroll down and purchase your space.

WHAT SIZE, NUMBER OF CARDS, HOW DO I SEND MY WORK, ETC.?

You can create any size of card using any method you like. Per design, we require 20 cards + the envelopes to accompany them to be sent to us by November 1st, 2025. You can put whatever you like on the card's front, inside, and back. You can package the card however you like. We do encourage eco-friendly packaging, but it is up to you.

WHEN WILL I BE PAID FOR SALES OF CARDS?

Payment will be made on and after the 19th November 2025, provided you have given us your payment details.

WHEN/HOW WILL I BE SENT BACK ANY UNSOLD CARDS?

Please include a paid-for return label with the delivery of your card design to us by November 1, 2025. We will send back any unsold designs w/c 24th November.

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE FAIR?

We love it when you come along and support, but it’s not essential! Jo and the Sussex Contemporary team will curate, style, host, and take sales over the two days in Newhaven.

IS THERE A BEST CARD IN FAIR PRIZE?

Yes, there is a Sussex Contemporary Handmade Christmas Card prize. You’ll get a Seawhites voucher for £100 and three one-hour mentoring sessions with our Founder and Creative Director, Jo Myles. Jo has a wealth of experience in retail and commercial product development and a black book of contacts to rival any!
